A graduate of the University of Melbourne, Dr Tong spent his post-graduate research studies under the supervision of Professor David Pennington in the study of ‘platelet production in health and disease states’ at St Vincent’s Hospital. Dr Tong joined Melbourne Pathology in 1993 on a part-time basis. He has an appointment at a public teaching hospital as Head of Diagnostic Haematology and works in private practice and haematology trainee education. His special interest is in morphological diagnosis.
