After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1972, Dr Wallis trained in histopathology and cytopathology at the Austin and Alfred Hospitals, the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and the Royal Women’s Hospital. Subsequently he was appointed specialist pathologist at Prince Henry’s Hospital and the Victorian Cytology Service before joining Melbourne Pathology in 1984. He has developed his skills in fine needle aspiration cytology at the Brighton General and Royal Sussex County Hospitals, UK. Dr Wallis has special interests in gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology, neuropathology and cytopathology.
