Melbourne Pathology is one of Victoria’s largest diagnostic pathology laboratories, committed to providing high quality health care throughout metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria and interstate. Melbourne Pathology is part of the Sonic Healthcare group, which has a number of cytogenetic laboratories in Australia and overseas.
The Cytogenetics Department of Melbourne Pathology is a busy laboratory processing range of specimens using cytogenetic, microarray and FISH techniques.
An opportunity exists for a Scientist to join the Cytogenetics Department in a full-time position (38 hours per week). The successful applicant will be required to participate in occasional weekend and public holiday overtime rosters. The applicant is required to have a science degree with a major in genetics and should be enthusiastic and highly motivated with excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail. Experience in diagnostic Cytogenetics would be an advantage.
This position is planned for immediate start and expected to be for 14 months initially with the possibility for extension.
