Critical results
Critical results are defined as results outside critical limits defined by our pathologists, which may indicate a life threatening situation and require immediate notification to the referring doctor.
Specific procedures are in place in the laboratories to ensure that every effort is made by a scientist or pathologist to contact the referring doctor or other medical practitioner responsible for treating the patient.
